An actor becomes a practitioner of acting when the focus shifts from self-expression to truthful embodiment of a character. Acting is not about performing emotions but about experiencing them honestly within a given situation. This journey demands discipline, sensitivity, and the ability to listen—to oneself, to others, and to the space. Moving from actor to acting is a continuous process of unlearning, observation, and surrender, where the actor becomes a medium for storytelling rather than its center.
The transition from actor to acting is a movement from individuality to collective responsibility. In theatre, acting is not a display of talent but a process of inquiry—into human behaviour, social realities, and lived experiences.
